Today, food fraud is a global problem that affects all consumers. Unlawful marketing of misdeclared food products allows financial benefits through unfair means.
In February 2023, Italian authorities publish a press release about an alleged organic fraud and the related current investigation against several companies. Since organic almonds are among the products affected, we would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we are not affected by this organic scandal.
As an importer for food from controlled organic cultivation we trade among others with organic almonds from Italy and Spain. Long-term trade relations with suppliers in the country of origin are particularly important to us. We obtain our Italian almonds from our long-standing Sicilian partners, with whom we have been working together since the establishment of our company. This contact is characterized by trust and friendship.
The producers of our Italian organic almonds are known to us and are personally audited by us and our local partners on a regular basis. The organic almonds are organically grown in Sicily by the producer on his own fields or sourced locally through long-time contracted growers.
