Coconut flakes, medium
The raw material for the production of coconut flakes is the white flesh of the coconut. Several production steps are necessary. The harvested coconuts are peeled and the brown skin is removed. The white coconut flesh is then grated. The rasps are then dried in ovens to remove moisture from the core meat. The drying process concentrates the ingredients. If raw coconuts still have a fat content of more than 36 g, this is more than 60 g for dried grated nuts. The valuable minerals found in the coconut are not damaged by the drying process. They are contained almost unchanged in the rasps. We purchase our organic coconut flakes, medium, from organic production. They come from Sri Lanka, Philippines and Vietnam.
Use
Whenever coconut is to become visible, the medium sized coconut shavings do well. In mueslis, they provide a distinct coconut taste. As a decoration on cakes and tarts, the organic coconut flakes offer both the eye and the palate full enjoyment. Roasted they are an ideal topping for rice dishes and exotic salads, they taste good with vegetables and fruit. The organic coconut flakes, processed in spice pastes, give Asian, African and Creole dishes their popular coconut flavour. Organic coconut flakes, medium, are also suitable as a feed supplement for animals, for example as a bar supplement for dogs.
