As a special feature, we offer our customers green organic lentils. Our deep green, blue marbeled speciality comes from Canada. The lentils have a thin, green skin which is blue, brown or dark green. The inside is yellow. These lentils keep their firm bite even after cooking. Their taste is extremely intense and nutty, not least thanks to the nutrient-rich soil. The soils also ensure that this type of lentil is particularly rich in valuable substances. They contain vitamins E, B and C as well as beta-carotene. Their protein content is usually slightly higher than that of other lentils. They are low in fat and high in fibre, two essential criteria for a healthy diet.
Use
This green lentils are gourmet lenses. The upscale gastronomy appreciates them and creates with them dishes that live on contrast. Lentils with apple preparations or truffled lentils with seafood are on the menu here. The green organic lentils are particularly suitable for ragouts because they stay firm to the bite and hardly change their shape. These characteristics also make this variety a popular salad ingredient. It lacks the floury of other lentils and remains crisply fresh even when processed. Soups with creamy, mild lentils really spice up the green legumes. In rice dishes, they provide both a tasty and visual contrast. Organic green lentils are the perfect complement to fine meats such as fillet of beef.
